Building Creative Futures: In partnership with Kent County Council

(Invitational Roundtable)

Thurs 2nd

09:00 - 10:45

Ballroom

at Dreamland

If we were designing Kent's creative talent pipeline from scratch in 2026, what would we do differently? The creative industries are one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, yet businesses across Kent continue to face challenges finding the talent, skills and experience they need to grow. At the same time, many young people remain unaware of the breadth of creative careers available to them, or the routes into them. Hosted by UK Creative Festival in partnership with Kent County Council, Building Creative Futures brings together creative employers, educators, industry bodies, local authorities and policymakers for a practical conversation about the future of creative skills in Kent. Through a series of short provocations and facilitated roundtable discussions, we'll explore how we can create stronger pathways into the sector, better align education with industry needs, and ensure creative talent can build successful careers within the region. Together, we'll identify a series of practical recommendations to help shape future skills provision, industry engagement and workforce development across Kent. Please note: this is not an open panel discussion. It is a working session designed to generate ideas, share experiences and develop practical solutions that can help inform future skills planning. If you would like to join us, please email Miriam@ukcreativefestival.co.uk.

With Eureka Creativity. Screens are brilliant. They're also quietly screwing with your ability to think deeply, remember things and come up with genuinely original ideas. According to neuroscience our brains respond to physical stimulus differently to digital screens, for creative thinking, that difference really matters. In this practical one-hour workshop, creative thinking coach and Eureka founder Ketan Lad will show you why going analogue isn't just retro, it's one of the most powerful things you can do to unlock clearer thinking, stronger intuition and better ideas. Expect to put your phone down, pick up a pen and put it to paper. Through a mix of short provocations and practical exercises, you'll leave with ink on your fingers, new ideas and habits made for the creative process worth keeping.
